Thank you to all who came out Monday night!
Over 100 transit riders marched and rallied together between Thunderstorms. We made our voices heard outside RTA and throughout downtown Cleveland…
And it worked!
Because of you the RTA Board voted unanimously after a long discussion to draft language for a potential transit levy for this November…
This was after we presented over 700 letters signed by transit riders that we want cheaper fares, more bus service, and a transit levy now!
CPT has also called for CEO Joe Calabrese to step back and immediately start the search for Calabrese’s replacement to ensure stability while new funding is sought.
RTA’s board agreed and voted on Tuesday for Joe Calabrese to step back from the CEO position starting September 1st.
We thank Joe Calabrese for his service to RTA but look forward to new leadership that will provide a vision to revitalize transit in our community.
This is great but we still need your help!
The RTA Board has agreed to draft language for a levy, not to put it on the ballot yet.
Riders are paying twice as much for service that has been cut over 25% since 2005. Endless fare increases and service cuts are creating a death spiral.
Members of our community cannot access jobs, healthcare, education. We will not wait any longer.
RTA has been aware of a $20 million annual loss due to a change in state sales tax for years without any plan to replace lost funds. We need cheaper fares and frequent transit. We need a levy now!
Stay tuned for how to make the levy a reality.

Improve transit in Cleveland. Donate to CPT!
CPT is a grassroots riders organization. This rally was only possible with your support.
In the future we’d like to buy transit passes for all our rallies? Can you spare a few dollars to make it happen?
